I have been taking photos as long as I can remember, starting with a Box Brownie as a kid, graduating to a Kodak Instamatic on about my 10th birthday and then a succession of SLRs, mostly Canon but with the odd Nikon thrown in. I have been lucky to have had the opportunity to travel extensively, firstly in the 70s as a 21 year old finding my place in the world by way of a 2 year adventure through South and North America and Europe, followed by 40 years of working in agriculture in Australia, Asia and Africa. Apart from being an extremely fulfilling and worthwhile way to spend one’s life, international agriculture has also provided many opportunities to photograph people and places rarely seen by others. I have indeed been fortunate.
